Privacy policy
Last updated 4 November 2026. Custodo is published by BufferSol Technologies. Questions: buffersoltechnologies@gmail.com.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter: first names of children, parent labels, schedule and holiday changes, exchange check-ins, expenses, journal notes and communication log entries. This data lives in a local database in the app. We cannot see it. Android’s automatic cloud backup is turned off for the app, so Google does not copy this database either.
What we collect
| Data | Collected? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Your records | No | Stored on your device only. |
| Usage analytics | Only if you opt in | Off by default. If you switch on “Share anonymous usage” in Settings → Privacy, we receive which features are used (for example “exchange logged”). Never notes, names, amounts or dates. Purpose: improving the app. Not shared. You can switch it off at any time. |
| Crash reports | No | Not enabled in this version. |
| Location, contacts, messages, photos, microphone | No | The app does not request these permissions. |
| Advertising identifiers | No | No ads and no advertising SDKs. |
Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you before an exchange. Reminders are created on your phone.
- Biometrics / screen lock: to protect the app with your fingerprint, face or phone PIN if you turn on App lock. Custodo never receives your biometric data.
Optional backup (when released)
A future version may offer optional backup and restore. If you choose to sign in, we will receive your email address for account management, and your backup is encrypted on your phone before upload, so our servers store ciphertext only. This will be optional. The app works fully without an account. This policy will be updated before backup is released.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data. When you create a PDF summary, it is made on your phone and only goes where you choose to share it.
Security
Any data sent over the network uses HTTPS. You can lock the app with your phone’s screen lock. Keep your phone secure: anyone who can unlock it can open the app unless App lock is on.
Your choices and deletion
You can erase everything at any time in the app: Settings → Backup & account → Erase data on this phone. Uninstalling the app also removes it. See how to delete your data.
Children
Custodo is for adults (18+). It stores only the first names a parent chooses to enter, on that parent’s phone.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
